May 2010 Hey!!! We're nearing the end of another month of fantasic comedy for Newcastle. Early next month (on the 3rd June) there will be a comedy night held at The Great Northern Hotel, everyone is welcome to come along and have a laugh. And Remember, free comedy at The Oriental every Sat night!!! I would like to encourage all of you to come along and check it out, and if you've ever wanted to give stand up comedy a go then you should come along and take on the open mic, it won't bite you but we can't make promises about the other comedians... Hope to see you around da' scene soon... fo shizzle. April 2010 Hey guys, We have some great new things happening with Newcastle Comedy. We still have free comedy every Sat at the Oriental and anyone interested in trying some Open Mic are more than welcome to come along and give it a shot. We also have some new places holding comedy nights over the next few months. On May 8th at the Oriental there will be a heat for the Pickled Comedy Competition run out of Wollongong, for more details check out the Pickled Website (http://www.wicf.com.au/pickled.html). Also a man named Trevor Conomy has written a comedy play called "The Golden Days of Syracuse", which will be performed by the Newcastle Theatre Company. It runs from April 28th to May 8th. Hope to catch you at a comedy night soon! 19 July 2009 A fantastic night with the final of the Coopers Comedy Competition being held! Well done to all our finalists, and congratulations to young Newcastle comic Rob Bukey who won the night! It’s great to see, Rob has been around the Newcastle scene for a while and you will surely see more of him after this!
